Entrance into the LSU School of Allied Health Professions Master of Physician Assistant Studies, Master of Occupational Therapy, and Doctor of Physical Therapy programs at both the New Orleans and Shreveport campuses requires an undergraduate ݮƵ before entering. LSUS has coursework designed to fully prepare you for for these advanced ݮƵ paths.
LSUS offers the prerequisite work to prepare you for admission to the Department of Cardiopulmonary Science at LSUHSC – Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions. The Cardiopulmonary Science Program prepares you to provide care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients with cardiopulmonary disease, administer diagnostic tests and therapeutic agents and techniques, and operate and maintain the instrumentation involved in these procedures, as well as work in supervisory and administrative positions within the profession.
The Pre-Clinical Laboratory Science ݮƵ helps to prepare you for admission LSUHSC – Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions Bachelor of Science ݮƵ program in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
Our Pre‐Dental Hygiene program will prepare you for the Bachelor of Science ݮƵ from the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, or similar programs at other accredited universities.
Our Pre-Nursing program will prepare you for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing at either Northwestern School of Nursing or LSU Health Sciences Center School of Nursing in New Orleans.
The Pre‐Optometry curriculum includes the coursework necessary for you to enter Colleges of Optometry that are members of the American Optometry Association.
LSUS offers coursework to prepare you to apply for admission to the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at The University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM).
Through a partnership with Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and the University of Louisiana at Monroe, LSUS students can take their Pre-Rad Tech undergraduate courses at LSUS before applying for admission to the Radiologic Technology program at either university.
LSUS offers two‐year Pre‐Agriculture programs for those wishing to obtain a 4-year agricultural ݮƵ from another university. Curricula is designed to prepare students for programs such as Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Mechanization, Animal Science, Crop Science, Dairying (four options), Entomology, Food Science and Technology, General Agriculture, General Horticulture, Poultry Science, Rural Sociology, and Soil Science.
Our two‐year programs in Pre‐Forestry include Forest Management, Game Management, and Wood Science and Utilization.
