Financial Aid Summer Application
The form below is for students who currently do not have summer aid. Please check to see if you DO NOT have summer aid on myLSUS showing in the summer column before completing this form. Login to >Financial Aid>Awards. Online accelerated graduate students do not need to complete a summer aid application.
To be awarded financial aid for the summer:
You must have completed a 2024-25 FAFSA.
You must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

You may have remaining Pell Grant funds for the summer semester. If you wish to use only the Pell Grant for summer, you do not need to complete a Summer Data Form. Once you enroll in your summer classes, your Pell Grant will be awarded within 5 - 7 business days.
If you borrowed the maximum loan amount allowed during the 2024-25 academic year, you will not have remaining funds.

If eligible, you must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
Traditional graduate students must be enrolled in six credit hours of graduate coursework.
If you are applying for a student loan for the first time, you must complete Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note at .
Email finaid@lsus.edu if you meet the above criteria and would like to use TOPS for the summer. However, summer funding has not been confirmed at this time.
FULL-TIME ENROLLMENT = 12 credit hours
HALF-TIME ENROLLMENT = 6 credit hours
FINANCIAL AID WILL BE AWARDED AFTER YOU HAVE REGISTERED FOR SUMMER CLASSES. YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 CREDIT HOURS TO RECEIVE STUDENT LOANS. THEREFORE, YOU WILL NOT BE AWARDED A LOAN IF YOU ARE REGISTERED IN LESS THAN 6 CREDIT HOURS FOR THE SUMMER. IF YOUR ENROLLMENT PLANS CHANGE AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN AWARDED, CONTACT THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.
